Editing

Writing headlines, finding typos and samurai editing are my idea of a good time.  I am extremely well-versed in AP Style and familiar with Chicago Style.

UM Style Guide I led a major lexicographical update of the UM Style Guide in 2006.

I first began copy editing for the Whitefish Pilot newspaper. At The University of Montana, I wrote and edited hundreds of news releases and numerous publications. During 10 years in University Relations, I was managing editor of the UM Style Guide and UM’s weekly email newsletter, TGIF. I also was a contributing writer and editor for UM publications such as the Montanan magazine, President’s Report, Vision, Research View and Main Hall to Main Street.

I was managing editor of the spring 2010 issue of the UM Foundation’s newsletter, Raising Montana (PDF). From June 2010 to July 2011, I was managing editor of the Alumni Activities and Grizzly Rider newsletters for the UM Office of Alumni Relations. I also edited the About Alumni class notes section of the Montanan magazine and managed Alumni’s social media presence on Facebook and Twitter.
